STEMentality: A Mental Health Awareness Campaign for CSIS Students

The World Health Organization (WHO) stated in their constitution that “health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” With this statement, we can come up with the idea that every people must take care of their physical and mental health to attain good health. However, many people are just interested in their physical health. With this in mind, we came up with the topic of mental health awareness. This social campaign aims to inform people about the importance of mental health and how everyone should take care of it.

More so, given that mental health issues have been pervasive nowadays, this campaign primarily seeks everyone’s interest in order for them to take an immediate action and eventually combat the constant spread of this issue. This campaign consists of the definition of mental health, how science views it, how each one of us could take care of it, along with the stigma, and how to break it.

#NoToPAREX Stand against the construction of Pasig River Expressway.

Pasig River Expressway (PAREX) is a proposed megaproject in Metro Manila that includes building a six-lane skyway over Pasig River. Over the past few months; architects, urban planners, and environmentalists alike have united in disapproving the project due to how damaging, ineffective, inefficient, and unprepossessing it is to our environment and city. It is often and crucially cited how this expressway will kill the ecosystem in Pasig River; how it will induce more people to buy cars, hence heavier traffic; how it will make the land value in Metro Manila less; as well as how it will devastate the view of numerous heritage sites in the city. Currently, PAREX is approved for construction by the government, and progress in building it will skyrocket soon enough without legal action.
